Volunteer

You can make a real difference in the lives of the people that use our various services. Bookstore Attendant:

- The bookstore volunteer serves as our telephone "switchboard," directing calls appropriately. These volunteers also may need to assist customers browsing or making purchases in the store. Computer Instructor:

- Volunteers in the computer lab teach valuable computer skills to unemployed people, making them better equipped to work in the professional world. If you have a specific computer program you would like to teach for about two hours per week, please let us know - we'll do all we can to build it into our class schedule!

Driver

We are always looking for volunteers to transport our elderly and transitional housing guests to and from doctor appointments, job interviews, or wherever they may need to go. Reimbursement may be provided.

Food Bank Volunteer

Every other Thursday and on the opposing Fridays, The Lighthouse operates our area Food Bank. Helping hands are always appreciated anytime from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., lifting and transporting boxes of food, keeping track of paperwork, cooking, and set-up/clean up.

Grounds

Whether you prefer mowing the lawn, landscaping, vacuuming, or building walls, we will find a way to use your labor skills. Come when you can - work hours are flexible!

Residential Volunteer

The Lighthouse provides safe, clean, supervised housing for up to 12 disenfranchised young adults (18-21 yrs. of age) as well as support that will bring stability and direction to their lives. Volunteers in this area can assist in numerous ways, but the area volunteers are needed most is for occasional overnight relief (6p.m.-a.m.) for staff resident advisers.

Wheels of Work Volunteer

Wheels of Work is a Lighthouse program that provides automobiles to those in need of a reliable set of wheels. Donated vehicles are reconditioned for a needy family or sold to provide funds to recondition other vehicles. Volunteers with Wheels of Work may help with fixing the autos or with office work!

Please contact Dave Miller for more information on volunteering with us at 724-898-HOPE, ext. 34.
